One of my most contrapuntal works to date. Sax Quartet has two moods: a darker, mysterious opening, like music for a film noir; and a second, spirited movement, like the shmultzy things people say to each other in bars as pickup lines. I love the harmonic motion of this work, which the timbre of the sax quartet so beautifully illuminates.
