One of my earliest chamber works, I wrote a movement representing different types of lovers in one particular bassoonist's life. These two lovers in the sound samples are the wistful romantic one, and the quirky, enthusiastic, but sometimes unpredictable one. The second movement has a Stravinskian quality with its 5/8 meter and brief, staccato melodies.
